Last week I was in the Netherlands and we did some more wedding planning. One of these activities was cake tasting! Bakkerij de Morgenstond was recommended by our friends Fang & Yong and their cakes were super tasty.
The cake flavor we chose is chipolata which is a uniquely Dutch flavor. Since I wasn’t familiar with it, I googled it and found some strange results:
Ummm… SAUSAGE flavored cake!?!?
Thankfully, Guy reassured me that it was NOT sausage flavored cake. Chipolata cake is a layered sponge cake with fruit and cream and is a very common and popular cake choice.
Adding the word “cake” to my search yielded more normal results:
